Love Live! Hasu no Sora TV Anime Sets January 10 Debut, 7 Episodes

Lead: The Love Live! Hasu no Sora TV anime will premiere on January 10, 2027, with a compact seven-episode run that hands the spotlight to the school idol club’s new 106th class.

What happened with the Hasu no Sora TV anime

The official site for Love Live! Hasu no Sora Jogakuin School Idol Club revealed the premiere date, the episode count and a new key visual on Sunday, October 18. The series will cover the 106th class’s story from April through June of their school year, across seven episodes.

Tokyo MX airs it first on Sundays at 10:30 p.m. JST starting January 10. BS11, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting and Shizuoka Broadcasting follow later the same night. Hokkaido Broadcasting starts on January 11, and Hokuriku Broadcasting starts on January 17.

Gō Kurosaki (Shikizakura) directs at Sublimation, with Fumiaki Maruto (White Album 2, Engage Kiss) writing the script. Haruko Iizuka designs the characters, Kaito Hamakawa directs the CG, Keiichi Nozaki directs the sound, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa composes the music, with Lantis on music production. Anime News Network notes that most of this team returns from the Bloom Garden Party 3D film that opened in Japan on May 8. Hikari Komiya takes over as color key artist, and Fumika Takahashi joins Hiroshi Tanaka as compositing director of photography.

The announcement also added three new cast members: Julia Hoshimiya as Maika Kinjo, Kana Asahi as Aoi Reisawa and Kanae Yuasa as Mion Shinowa. They join returning members including Hina Sakurai, Fuka Hayama, Rin Kurusu, Miu Miyake and Amane Shindo.

Why it matters

Hasu no Sora has always been the odd one out in the Love Live! family. It was built around Link! Like! Love Live!, a smartphone app that launched on April 15, 2023 and let fans follow the idols through a 365-day school year in real time. According to Anime News Network, that app ended service on June 30, and its publisher Odd No. filed for bankruptcy on August 5. A TV series is now the project’s main way to keep telling stories, not a side item.

The seven-episode format is a deliberate choice. A tight April-to-June arc suggests a focused, self-contained season instead of a full 12- or 13-episode cour. That’s smart for a group whose 103rd class said goodbye in the film. It also means newcomers can start with the 106th class instead of studying three years of backstory.

Studio continuity matters too. Sublimation’s 3D-heavy approach on Bloom Garden Party set the visual style, and keeping the same director, writer and designer should make the step from film to TV feel smooth rather than like a reboot.

What we know vs what is rumored

  • Confirmed: January 10, 2027 premiere on Tokyo MX, a seven-episode run and a story set from April to June of the 106th class’s year (official site).
  • Confirmed: the director, writer and main staff, plus three new cast members, listed on the official site and in reports from Anime News Network and Anime Corner.
  • Unconfirmed: an international streaming partner. None was named in the sources we checked.
  • Note: English outlets romanize the title differently. Anime News Network uses “Hasu no Sora Jogakuin,” while Anime Corner uses “Hasunosora Girls’ High School.” Both refer to the same project.

What happens next

The next milestones are a trailer, opening and ending theme announcements, and any overseas streaming deal, all of which should come before the January 10 broadcast. If it airs weekly without breaks, the seventh episode would land on February 21 in Japan. Watch for whether the 106th class gets its own concert and music push to match it.
