Lead: The Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War finale is days away: the official Bleach anime channel posted “THE LAST PV” for The Calamity on October 16, and episodes 49 and 50 air on TV Tokyo on October 19 and October 26 after a quality delay.
What happened
The official Bleach anime YouTube channel began streaming the trailer, titled “TV Anime BLEACH Thousand-Year Blood War THE LAST PV,” on Friday, October 16. Anime News Network reported the video the next day. It promotes Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, the fourth and final part of the adaptation of Tite Kubo’s last manga arc, which runs from volume 55 to volume 74.
The trailer arrives five weeks after a schedule change. On September 12, the production committee announced through Aniplex that episodes 49 and 50 would move so the staff could raise the quality of the closing episodes and deliver the series in better shape through the final episode. Episode 48 aired the same day. Under the new schedule, episode 49 airs on the TV Tokyo network on Monday, October 19 at 24:00 JST, which is effectively midnight going into Tuesday. BS TV Tokyo follows on October 20 at 24:30. Episode 50 airs on TV Tokyo on October 26 at 24:00 and on BS TV Tokyo on October 27 at 24:30.
Japanese streaming platforms add episode 49 from noon on October 20 and episode 50 from noon on October 27. In the United States, VIZ Media lists the English-subtitled episodes on Hulu at 8:30 a.m. PDT on Monday, October 19 and Monday, October 26. That is 6:30 p.m. Bahrain time on both days. VIZ says Disney+ carries the series internationally, and English and Spanish dubs keep their Saturday slot on Hulu in the U.S.
While the finale was on hold, TV Tokyo reran four earlier episodes as a “Climax Selection”: episode 7 on September 19, episode 28 on September 26, episode 46 on October 5, and episode 48 on October 12.
Why the Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War finale matters
This is the end of a long road. The Bleach TV anime stopped in 2012 without adapting the final arc, and Thousand-Year Blood War has spent four cours, with breaks in between, finishing that job. When episode 50 airs, every arc of the manga will have been animated. Few long-running shonen series get that kind of complete send-off.
The delay is also worth noting. Pushing a finale back by more than a month is a real cost, because it breaks weekly viewing habits and moves the episodes into a crowded fall season. The committee made that call anyway and gave quality as the only reason. If the last two episodes look as polished as the trailer suggests, that will support the case for giving final episodes extra time instead of rushing them out on schedule.
The release plan is truly global. Japanese broadcast, Japanese streaming, and the U.S. Hulu release all happen within about a day of each other, so international fans won’t wait long after Japan. Hulu’s slot lands at 6:30 p.m. Bahrain time on Monday evening, while Disney+ availability and timing vary by region.

Aniplex says broadcasters outside the TV Tokyo network will announce their own times once those schedules are set, so check your local listings or streaming service in the days before each episode.
