Morning After the Steam: Naruto and Hinata’s Honeymoon Breakfast
By How to Draw Manga | Posted on June 5, 2025
Morning came with soft rays slipping through the shoji screens, casting warm light onto the woven tatami mats. Hinata stirred first, blinking sleep from her eyes, her head still nestled on Naruto’s shoulder.
“Mmm… good morning,” she whispered, her voice feather-light.
Naruto yawned beside her, hair sticking up in wild directions. “Heh. Morning, princess.”
He sat up slowly, stretching like a fox shaking off a nap. Their futons were still warm, the scent of cedar and steamed cloth lingering in the air. Somewhere down the hall, a bell chimed—the gentle announcement that breakfast was being served.
The two changed into clean yukata robes and made their way to the inn’s open-air dining veranda. A private table awaited them, perched beside a koi pond where lazy fish drifted beneath ripples.
“Whoa…” Naruto stared at the tray already laid out: grilled salmon with crispy skin, steamed rice shaped like clouds, delicate miso soup, and sides of pickled plum, soft tofu, and golden tamagoyaki. “Did we get upgraded to royalty or something?”
Hinata chuckled. “It’s a traditional breakfast. I read they prepare everything fresh each morning.”
He picked up his chopsticks, then froze. “Wait—what’s the rule again? Do I start from the left? The soup? Is this one sweet or salty?”
Hinata smiled warmly, guiding his hand. “Just enjoy it however you like.”
They ate slowly, savoring every bite as morning light danced across their plates. Naruto’s eyes sparkled with every taste. “This egg roll thing? *So* good. Can we have this every morning back in the village?”
Hinata offered him her pickled daikon with a playful tilt of her head. “Only if you promise to help in the kitchen.”
He exaggerated a groan, but took the daikon anyway. “Fine. But I’m the taste tester, dattebayo.”
The koi splashed gently in the pond. Somewhere beyond the trees, a bird sang. Naruto leaned back, hands behind his head, full belly and full heart.
“Y’know,” he murmured, eyes still half-lidded with sleep and joy, “I used to think the Hokage had the best seat in the world. But right now? Right here with you? That’s unbeatable.”
Hinata reached across the table and took his hand. “Then let’s stay in this moment, just a little longer.”
And they did. No missions. No expectations. Just warmth, love, and the simple sweetness of their first breakfast as husband and wife.
