GTA 6 Launch Trailer Debuts Justice Single as November 19 Date Nears

Lead: Rockstar Games released the GTA 6 launch trailer on October 15, a 90-second spot captured in-game on PlayStation 5 and set to a brand-new Justice single, with Grand Theft Auto VI still dated for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What happened

Rockstar posted the trailer on its Newswire, YouTube channel, and official GTA VI site on Thursday, October 15, with its X announcement timestamped 1:00 PM UTC (4:00 PM Bahrain time). The official description recaps the setup: Jason and Lucia, a job in Vice City that goes wrong, and a criminal conspiracy that spreads across the state of Leonida, leaving the pair dependent on each other to survive.

The music is the headline addition. The trailer debuts “Flower in a Hurricane,” a new single from French electronic duo Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar confirms Justice composed the game’s original score, and the track appears on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which Gematsu reports is open for pre-save on streaming services and pre-order on vinyl and CD.

Rockstar says the footage was captured entirely in-game on PS5. VGC points out that the studio does not say whether that means a base PS5 or a PS5 Pro. Digital Foundry notes the trailer carries PlayStation branding and an M for Mature rating, and mixes unseen scenes with moments from earlier trailers. On Rockstar’s trailer page it follows Trailer 1 (December 2023), Trailer 2 (May 2025), and the 26-minute Extended Look from August 27, 2026.

Purchase details have not changed since Take-Two’s June 24 pre-order announcement. The standard edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99. Digital pre-orders can preload from November 12, and the physical box, which contains a download code rather than the full game, also goes on sale November 12 so buyers can preload. Purchases made before November 20 include the Vintage Vice City Pack.

Why the GTA 6 launch trailer matters

Dropping a launch trailer five weeks out is a confidence move. This game has already been delayed, and Rockstar’s own Newswire headline says it is now set for November 19. Spending the launch-trailer slot this early tells retailers and players the date is locked. VGC adds the scale: this is Rockstar’s first major new single-player release since Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018.

The Justice single shows how Rockstar plans to market the game outside gaming. A track with SZA and Tame Impala gets played on music platforms by people who will never watch a gameplay deep-dive, and the soundtrack album extends that reach. The PS5 capture and PlayStation branding on Rockstar’s trailer page also point to Sony’s marketing partnership heading into launch.

Tone is the other conversation. In separate previews, Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson told IGN that the team avoids very specific political issues and memes that age quickly. Polygon reports that this means GTA VI will not directly address Donald Trump or COVID-19. The trailer fits that approach: it is Vice City excess and Florida-style chaos rather than headline satire.

What we know vs what is rumored

  • Confirmed: the GTA VI launch trailer released October 15, captured in-game on PS5, featuring Justice’s “Flower in a Hurricane” with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
  • Confirmed: November 19 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; $79.99 standard and $99.99 Ultimate; digital preload and physical code-in-box availability from November 12.
  • Unconfirmed: exact regional unlock times, PS5 Pro-specific enhancements, and any PC or Switch 2 version. None has been announced, and earlier PC-date chatter remains rumor.

What happens next

The next milestone is November 12, when digital preloads open and physical code boxes reach shelves. Launch follows on November 19, with the soundtrack album due on streaming services the same day, according to Digital Foundry. Digital Foundry also plans to break down the trailer’s technology in an upcoming DF Direct episode. Rockstar has not yet confirmed regional unlock times, so expect that detail closer to preload week.
